SYMPHONY OF THE SEAS

Royal Caribbean locates the largest cruise ship in the world and newest in Barcelona during the summer season. When they finish construction at the end of March 2018, the Symphony of the Seas will exceed by several meters and tons their brothers of the Oasis class,. And of course, it will have the latest in entertainment and gastronomy that appanage it as one of the best cruises in the world. What to say about this incredible masterpiece of human engineering of 227,000 gross tons? It has an authentic outdoor park with 12,000 plants, four themed pools, zip line, surf pools, an incredible 10-story slide, elevator bar, indoor shopping street, outdoor amphitheater with water show, and many, many more things. In short, a boat that you have to try at least once in your life.

MSC SEAVIEW

MSC Cruises continues its unstoppable career to become one of the largest shipping companies in the world and demonstrates it by inaugurating two completely different types of ships in a very short space of time. After opening its largest ship to date, the MSC Meraviglia, in 2017, it is the turn of the MSC Sea view, a revolutionary new design to enjoy the sun during the Mediterranean summer based in Barcelona.

With 160,000 gross tons in size, its exterior deck features a large water park behind the chimney with a 120m Himalayan bridge, zip-line, indoor pool, shaded main pool and an aft pool at a lower level perfect for those looking for a little more of tranquility. Inside, there are major changes, such as two buffets instead of one, a variety of restaurants and the usual entertainment of MSC Cruises: Cinema 5D, Formula 1 simulator, a Broadway-style theater and as a novelty a cosmopolitan comedy club.

CARNIVAL HORIZON

Its usual base port will be New York, but in April we will be able to enjoy the Carnival Horizon in the Mediterranean with 4 pre-inaugural cruises from Barcelona, is another best cruises in the world. It is a 100% American product, do not expect translations of letters or TV channels in Spanish, but unless you defend yourself with English you can enjoy a very fun boat.

It has such amazing facilities as the Skyride, a circuit of hanging bicycles that run along the ship’s rail, or the arbor park and the Waterworks water park. But if you want to relax, the Serenity bow area is free of children, although we prefer the great aft pool of the Havana Club, which opens for all passengers at 5 pm. Until that time, it is exclusively for the passengers of the Havana Cabana Suites, but that does not bother you, as there are facilities and restaurants to give and take throughout the day. One of the salons that have caused a sensation is the Atrium, thanks to its brutal led sculpture that changes the design every second, and the main restaurant is an example of American elegance that will surprise you, as well as its careful cuisine.

CELEBRITY REFLECTION

Since Venice began to put the biggest ships at risk to access its port, in the Eastern Mediterranean it is not easy to find these giants of the sea. But the Celebrity Reflection, one of the most elegant ships of the market, skips this problem establishing its base in Civitavecchia, and offering magnificent cruises of 11 days with the Greek Islands of the main course. It is the ideal boat for those looking for an elegantly modern decor and a premium environment. In its 126,000 tons fit 10% fewer passengers than in a standard shipping, and are served by 25% more crew, so the quality of the experience seems assured.

MSC MERAVIGLIA

The MSC Meraviglia was the most important new boat in 2017, and in 2018 it will take its spectacular facilities to the Baltic. With 167,600 tons, it is one of the largest cruises in the world, with facilities such as a water park, an interior promenade of 111 meters with a led roof, an aft lounge for exclusive performances by the Cirque du Soleil, Formula1 simulators, a bowling alley, a studio TV and a variety of family cabins.

NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY

Although it does not have an indoor pool, the Norwegian Breakaway will be another star of Northern Europe this 2018, it is a ship of 146,600 tons opened in 2013 with all kinds of leisure facilities and cuisine. On its outer decks there are incredible water slides to an arborist park, and inside there are dozens of restaurants available around a small atrium with an impressive LED lamp. The shows are one of the strengths of Norwegian Cruise Line, with musicals such as Legally Blonde, and the fascinating illusionary magic show, highly recommended.

HARMONY OF THE SEAS

Although in the Mediterranean Royal Caribbean will premiere the Symphony of the Seas, in the Caribbean, are all his brothers of the Oasis class, highlighting among them the Harmony of the Seas, inaugurated in 2016 and with more facilities than Oasis and Allure. With its 227,000 tons of size, it narrowly outstrips its brothers Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, which also operate in the Caribbean.

DISNEY DREAM

Although all the boats we have mentioned have excellent children’s facilities, none can aspire to the level of the Disney Dream, which together with its twin DisneyFantasy, realize the dreams of thousands of children each year starting from Port Cañaveral, just one hour away. Disney World Orlando, this modern cruise ship of 128,000 tons inaugurated in 2011 has practically an entire deck dedicated to the children’s club, with thematic areas of Star Wars, the fairies, Toy Story, the Avengers, Frozen, experiments, etc. In addition, thanks to its original rotational shift system every night we will have dinner in one of its three main restaurants, served by the same team of waiters, although if we want something special, there are also high-end optional restaurants. And is that the experience has nothing to do with parks, we can define the Disney Dream as a premium boat, because the service is excellent, and the decoration, much more formal and elegant than we could imagine.

NORWEGIAN BLISS

Norwegian Cruise Line does not like to make boats with an indoor pool, even if it sends them to Alaska! The new Norwegian Bliss will start in those latitudes but then go down to the Caribbean, and even if it does not have an indoor pool, it will have something as spectacular as an outdoor kart track. Of course, it will also have water slides, dozens of alternative restaurants, a beautiful atrium with LED lamp and many Broadway quality shows.
